TAPENTADOL HCl (CAS 175591-09-0) is a centrally acting opioid analgesic in the benzenoid class with a dual mode of action as an agonist of the μ-opioid receptor and as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATION: ANALGESIC

  • Moderate to severe pain for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain
  • Control of pain due to diabetic neuropathy when around-the-clock opioid medication is required
  • Although not indicated for non-diabetic neuropathic pain, it is often used off-label for this purpose
